What is CNC machine insurance and why do I need it?

CNC machine insurance protects your business against financial loss if your CNC equipment breaks down, or suffers operator error. Without cover, repairs or replacements can cost tens of thousands of pounds, and downtime could disrupt your entire production schedule.

Does the policy cover operator error?

Yes. Many standard commercial policies exclude operator mistakes, but our CNC machine cover specifically includes accidental operator errors that cause damage to the machine.

Is breakdown cover included, or do I need a separate policy?

Mechanical and electrical breakdown is included as standard. This means if a part fails due to technical fault, repairs or replacements are covered, without the need for a separate breakdown policy.

How does business interruption cover work for CNC machines?

Business Interruption for machines originally supplied as new to you from manufacturer; we cover a contribution towards increased costs of working for up to 30 days, including if you need to use an alternative facility, hire temporary equipment, use different processes or hire temporary staff.

What types of CNC machines can be insured?

We cover a wide range of machines, including CNC milling machines, lathes, routers, laser cutters, and plasma cutters. If your machine is computer-controlled and essential to your operation, we can likely insure it.

Is the cover available for both new and used machines?

Yes. Our insurance includes cover for both new and out-of-warranty used CNC machines.

How much does the CNC machine insurance cost?

The cost of the CNC machine insurance depends on the manufacturer, age and value of your machine. Please contact us for a personalised quotation.

How do I pay?

We offer simple monthly payments via Direct Debit for your convenience.

Am I tied into a long-term contract?

No. This CNC insurance continues month-to-month so long as you continue to pay the premium. You can cancel at any time with 30 days’ notice.

What happens if I sell the machine?

You can cancel the policy with 30 days’ notice. The CNC machine insurance is specifically for your business and doesn’t automatically transfer to new owners.

Can I insure multiple machines?

Yes, we can tailor cover for single machines or full workshops.

• Damage from poor maintenance or misuse

• Damage during transit, installation, or commissioning
